Gain the freedom and know-how to re-create your photos into paintings as exciting as anything painted from life. Painting from photographs is not “cheating.” It is a smart, legitimate method used by fine artists from the Impressionists to today. Step-by-step you will master how to “crop” photos, how to convey their essence onto canvas, and how to transform them into heirloom quality paintings. You will also learn to use the luscious Impasto strokes and broken-colors that make Impressionist-style paintings so appealing. If you have a foundation in painting with oils or acrylics, and you’re in a hurry to get beautiful results, this liberating course is for you.
Instructor Bio
J.Z. is a working artist with many years experience. His art training includes academic education, self-study and hands-on studio work. As a teacher he takes the mystery out of painting, and articulates his hard-won knowledge with other. J.Z. graduated from Florida State University with a Liberal Arts background, and worked with several top advertising agencies where he earned many creative awards. To further his painting skills he studied painting at the Atlanta College of Art, and also served as an instructor at the Art Institute of Atlanta. In the Atlanta area his artwork has been acquired through the Shawn Vinson Gallery, Ann Jacobs Gallery-Buckhead, Boswell Gallery and others. J.Z.Torre's paintings and portraits are in private and corporate collections.
