As popular as our natural Thai mulberrys have been, we think this natural colored lokta paper will be just as popular. With its subtle texture and fiber inclusions, the handmade quality alone is something to be appreciated. This natural based paper provides an acid-free blank canvas, great for art applications such as block printing and screen printing, as well as for inkjet and laser printing. Lokta paper is an eco-friendly tree-free paper, derived from the lokta bush, also called the daphne bush. Growing around 6-9,000 feet up in the Himalayan region of Nepal, this bush completely regenerates in about 4 years, after being cut down to about 6 inches from the ground. Lokta papermaking provides a reliable revenue stream for the village artisans of Nepals rural and urban areas.
