ARTZ1169 | Fri.- Sun. Sept. 28- 30, 10am- 4pm | Registration Deadline: Aug. 24, 2012

This class will have a little of everything: students will work, I will demonstrate and speak and show sample of botanical work. Learn how to create a scientifically accurate detailed botanical painting using watercolor from choosing your subject, setup, observational skills, and technique through to completion of your painting. You can choose a fruit, vegetable or flower as your subject. Our first day will be spent drawing to learn fundamentals without the complication of color. The next two days we will use watercolors building up pigment and form using a drybrush method to bring realism to our work. The instructor will lecture, critique and work alongside the students. Karen Kluglein teaches at the New York Botanical Garden and has won numerous awards in the field of botanical painting.
