The disco-themed mural, by Dr. Dax and The Loss Prevention, pays homage to the famed Limelight club, popular in the 1970-80s and still fondly remembered by many Atlantans. To this day, locals refer to the Kroger Grocery and the shopping center in which the Limelight was housed as the “Disco Kroger.” The mural, located in the Piedmont-Peachtree Crossing shopping center, was hand painted on the 100’ x 20’ ft wall where BINDERS’ parking deck and entrance is located. The mural features a shimmering blonde inspired by comic super hero Dazzler, a smooth mover with a likeness to Travolta, and an 18 ft. disco ball.
